I cannot emphasize enough the COVID-19 Pandemic effects on physical health, mental health conditions, interpersonal relationships due to quarantine, economic activity, and more. It's hard to continue my daily life with a fear of getting a virus. Let's admit it; our daily lives will never be the same even after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Effects of Pandemic on People
Bereavement, loneliness, unemployment, and fear all cause or make mental health problems worse. Many people may be drinking more alcohol and taking more drugs. They may also be feeling more stressed out and stressed out, too.
When COVID-19 is taken by itself, it can cause neurological and mental problems like psychosis, agitation, and stroke, as well as many other things. People who have mental, neurological, or substance abuse problems are more likely to get SARS-CoV-2 and die.
How I Cope Up With It
Coping up with the pandemic means- I'm back with another animated prank! The pandemic has affected all aspects of life; therefore, making a new art will make me feel better. This week I called up a Walmart as Buk Lau pretending to be a crazed stalker who fell madly in love with one of the employees. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure you check it out here:
Walmarts are BY FAR one of my favorite businesses to prank because of all the crazy characters that work there. Walmart calls have been a staple of the channel since I first started posting on YouTube way back in 2008. If you want to take a trip down memory lane, check out these OG Walmart calls in the links below:
It's been a long time since I posted an animation. This is because animations take a long time to produce, and they demand a lot of resources. Also, social isolation due to the Coronavirus Outbreak may impact mental and emotional health; thus, this could also affect my daily activities. Who could produce art at that state?
BUT since, like most of you - I'm sitting at home quarantined, having a difficult time, with nowhere to go, I've decided to ramp up my efforts with a team of animators to produce more animated content. This could be my way of effective coping.
To show you some of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making these animations, I wanted to share some background and character sketches that were prepared for this most recent animation.
Here you can see a stock photo of a Walmart that was used to sketch the background when Buk walks into the store …
This background is then sketched ...
And colored and layered for the animation ...
We even went as far as making this a sliding glass door instead, so we could animate it to actually open up as Buk approaches it to enter the store. If you’re familiar with Adobe Photoshop, the “sliding” part of the door had to be separated on its own layer to accomplish this. By being on it’s own layer, the animator is able to freely move both sides to simulate the left and right “opening”
An important part of any animation is story-boarding. Here we develop ideas for gags, cut-scenes, and reactions that will enhance the jokes in the raw audio …
And since you’re here (AND you took the time to read the entire blog post ! ) I might as well give you a sneak peek of some character sketches for an upcoming animation that I’m SUPER excited about.
Yasmin, who will be featured in the next animated prank, is a girl eagerly awaiting a call from manager Abdo at “za Chicken Filet” for a job interview … ( notice how 8 different mouths have to be sketched for the different vowels and consonants)
To make sure that you don’t miss out on any of these upcoming animations, make sure you subscribe to my channel with notifications on.
PS. If you enjoyed seeing all this bonus content, let me know in the comments section of the Youtube video (link) . It’s the only way to let ME and other OP fans know that you appreciate this behind-the-scenes content. And it really fires me up to see your feedback !
