Ok guys, so yes I've checked previous threads about 'chat boxes' and all that. How about if I solve the issue OFF site!? I could develop an IRC server for this site free of charge. I think it would be nice, but yes, there would be a lot less talking on the forums, as IRC seems to usually take over the mediums once implemented. Most people would rather chat live then use forums.
So it's really up to you guys, I could obtain a server and make it 100% bitching for you guys, or not. Up to the admins/mods.

If we were to ever set up an IRC, I imagine that it would be something 100% owned and done by us. Ownage and myself both have experience running IRC servers, as well as several people who regularly visit vent.
An IRC server has also been done before, as mentioned by Michael. It wasn't that popular and most people would probably rather post here than have to install a client or use a java based web client. At most given times there probably wouldn't be enough people in the room to chat and the major thing, is that chatting is what ventrilo is for. So if you want to chat with everyone, get VIP and jump in the server.
