I have to get an idea for a science research project by the end of the day. Here's the catch, it has to be an original idea, i.e never done before. I'll prob spend the rest of the year working on the project so it can't be too basic. I also have to come up with 30 background sources by the end of the week, so yea, once again, not too basic. Also, I have to have the whole idea in a question form. I've spent forever thinking about this, and I can't think of anything, can you guys pleaseeeee help? Also, I'd like to do something that doesn't involve a living subject because then I would have to submit a shitload of paperwork.
I LOVE ALEXX, SHE IS THE BEST PERSON EVER IN MY LIFE AND SHE IS BEAUTIFUL AND SHE GIVES ME BUTTERFLIES AND SHE SMELLS GOOD AND I LIKE THE WAY SHE EATS AND I LIKE HER HAIR AND STUFF.
Can you give us some examples? What are your friends doing?
One of my buddies is doing a project, How does the shape of a football affect it's trajectory? Also I'd like to add, that it has to allow for experiments/trials. My buddies was pretty basic, but I think you get the general idea.. Also, even though it's for chemistry class it can be any kind of science as long as I can do something with it.

There are a lot of experiments you can do using plants. A friend did one back in the day involving cigarette smoke and the effect that it would have on a plants growth. He used bean plants (They're the fastest growing from seed to about a foot tall just in case you didn't know) and covered the plants up and subjected them to cigarette smoke once a day. Pretty interesting results.
Another friend did a project with differnet colour lights and how they affect plant growth. He did blue, red green and normal white light. Just put a few bean plants under each light and a piece of coloured filter paper over each. Again interesting results.
Another one is the affect of a magnetic field on plant growth. Grab some rare earth magnets and plant them on either side of the pot the plant is in. Subject the plant to this magnetic field the whole time. I think in this one the magnets actually made the plants grow a lot faster.
I actually went to a national science competition with this idea:
Does an electric current affect the growth rate of plants?
I hooked a few plants up to a rigged up car battery that sent a 30 second shock, twice a day through the plant's seeds until they grew, then the stems and the results were UNREAL. It was a lot of work to make it shock them (only 12 volts) twice a day but it won me a couple thousand dollars so I guess it was worth it.
Lots of good stuff here. Good luck and let me know if you need a different subject.

Just remember, if you do the factors on plant growth then you have to try your best to keep all other factors constant otherwise you can't decisively say that what you're studying is actually a factor that affects plant growth.
[EDIT] Wow...My first post got deleted...I accidentally made 2 but I blanked out the first one and the second one was deleted. :/
