New Maps

A few people including me are getting bored of playing the same maps over and over so I've decided to post about adding some new maps.

yeah, anything new would be nice. its basically the same 4-5 maps over and over. The rest of the maps get rtv'd the minute we get there because they are boring.

Have you tested these maps yourself to see if the Spawns are separated? Meaning that CT's and T's can't get to each other when they spawn.

If they spawn in the same location then we can't have those maps. Cause until this has been done, the maps won't be added as Ownage is the only person with power to add or remove maps. And he doesn't have the time to check them over.

Just from looking at the screen shots 2 or 3 of them are arena type surf... No way at all they will ever get played, and i mean ever. from the rest of the screen shots they look like they weren't meant for DM surf.

Obviously you know more about maps then me so maybe you should post some.

I did once, and we played them all of once.

What happens when you add maps to the server you play them once or twice unless your admin and force the map to change. Then because of the way it's setup most people vote for the good classic maps.

Basically if you add maps they aren't going to get played.

In there is all the maps I got added, when is the last time you ever played any of them.

I can't go thru all of them myself, but I'll upload/test them as long as you're sure both teams dont spawn together

Surf_lore and the xiv map definitely won't work, I remember trying them out before

Both are clearly showing, the seperated spawns and It's really just the same map, as the one before. I think we should add both. And remove surf_back_2_basics or surf_back_to_basics that needs to go. It's horribly set up and it's just straight spawn camping.

I know of a modified version of Surf Bedroom that fixes all of the texture issues, as well as places a couple ladders so playes can climb off the floor (placed so they are great for snipers to pick off the ladder climbers).

Its not on FPS Banana, but I can dig it up somewhere. Question is, do you guys think a "fixed" version of bedroom is needed? Other than the above fixes, its indentical to the original.

its getting kinda stale on the maps now. Any chance we can get a couple of these added Ownage?

Also, something else thats been bugging me... Is it possible for you to turn off the messages that announce who just achieved what level. It is nearly impossible to read anything on the server when there are like 20 people since its all just constant :

dfvrvervrv is now level 24
rbebetybt4un54un is now level 88
dvbwverv is now level 777
wdfhwbvwbevh is now level 39

I think it would be better if it were off, or make it where it only shows your level to you.

I have added all the decent maps that were suggested. Make a new thread, and include any maps you'd like added.

just make sure the maps don't share one spawn, and that it's big enough
