mmk so my download spead (according to speakeasy.net) should be about 1692kbps or w/e. Yet when i download with utorrent i only get about 130/160 kb/s. I do have forwarded ports for utorrent, so that can't be the problem..at least i don't think. Soo yea any help would be appreciated.

Thats because kbps is not kb/s.

Not always.

I can download torrents with 2 seeds at 1mb/s. And with over 4000 at 80kb/s.

It depends on how many active connections the seeders allow, and how many people are leaching.

Sometimes a 1:1 ratio is better, and in some cases, more leechers, cause than you have more people to download from.

1692/8 = 211.5KB/s is the maximum speed your connection can handle.

110-160 is very good.

And besides torrents much of the time won't give you maximum speed. you need to have seeds and that have good upload speed. to get the best speeds out of a torrent you want to download one that has lots of seeds and as few leechers as possible.

I have a 4.8mb/s connection which means the max down speed is 600KB/s. The most I ever get out of a torrent is 300 - 350KB/s. I generally average 100 - 180KB/s depending on the type of torrent.

It may allso be your internet provider is trottle controling, you can try to enable encription in the options for utorrent, it may help.

Speedtest.net is the most accurate one for sure. Your speed can change with everything. Whether it be another person connected to your network, an internet browser open downloading/uploading somewhere. There is tons of stuff so the best way to test this is when you know you're the only active person on your network and with essentially no other processes running.

I got a decent speed




But I usually get 500kb/s-900 kb/s when torrenting.. make sure your ports are forwarded and everything. find torrents with a bigger seeder to leecher ratio (I like to look for 2 to 1 if possible)
