Post where you were and what you were doing on 9/11.


I was in my 3rd grade class, and our principal came on the PA to announce that some parents "may be delayed in coming home" (partially true due to the closure of all the bridges into Washington, and partially as to not upset the kids). Then when I went home, everyone was gathered around the TV, and I saw the towers and the flight numbers on it.

To me, it was also the day that I felt the innocence of childhood was lost. Nothing seemed quite the same after it.





Also, inb4 too young/didn't remember.

I was in 3rd grade too!!! :-D
I remember seeing it on tv before i went to school, no idea what i was...after school, came home and got really pissed because they were showing the towers and i reallly wanted to watch the transformers cartoon.

i was in 12th grade for the 2nd time, it was 5 pm back then, i was having a nap, my parents woke me up to watch tthe news and we all gathered around the tv

I was getting ready for preschool. There was one more year until I would go to school, I just watched it and couldn't believe or understand what had happened.

I was at home and i walked in to my moms room and saw the first tower burning and saw the second plane crash into the other tower and some time later my friend got back from school and came over because they had an early dismissal because of the catastrophe

but if it did I was in Kindergarden and in Kindergarden we had a half day, so I was on my way home and I came in and everybody was sobbing annnd my dad was at the pentagon... (he's alright now, but we obviously hadn't heard from him at the time) best place to be when this is happening, right? and it fucking sucked, because I was 6 and no one was going to explain anything to me

I was in first or second grade. i had no idea what was going on at the time. i just thought it was cool seeing a big plane flying into a building. when i think back on it i feel bad.

I was in second grade, I remember watching it on the TVs in the classroom. The teachers seemed very uncomfortable the whole rest of the day.
Related: I was in NYC one week before 9/11. I actually went inside the wtc too.

I was in second grade, and alot of people were being picked up from school and I was one of them. This was before lunch, so as soon as I got home, I was eating my lunch and watching the WTC get destroyed. I didn't know what was happening.

I was in 4th or 5th grade. I remember the principal came on the intercom and we had a moment of silence that day. And then they sent us all home. My family sat and watched the news for a good week.

I had to go through the entire day of school. i don't remember any of the teachers being upset during school. but i got home at three and sat there and watched it.
