Surf/RPG Server update

Hey guys,

I've spent the last couple hours working on getting the server updated and working again. I was able to get most mods to function, but it still needs some work done. I am going to use an RPG alternative that has all the same upgrades, and a few more.

Currently deathmatch isn't working, and I need to get the old stats converted for the new system. Once it's complete I'll give you guys an update.

no probs, getting this db converted is the only thing holding me up now..

As soon as I get the conversion figured out..

If I just had everyone start over, I'm pretty sure I could put it up now.. but I still want to try

Yay, Thanks Ownage you rule, I don't see a problem with starting over, will make it bit more balanced and might get some new players to the server again, the 14K's might be a weee bit pissed but meh.

In honor of the uber high levels if you do reset you can make a surf wall of fame to lessen the sting of the reset(if you can check the levels), maybe have a vote on it, though like 98% of the server never comes on here lol.
and you can always keep a copy of the levels in case rpg gets resurrected

In any case, your server is like crack, if the update didn't kill them off a reset likely won't ether.

to me it just depends on how long it would take. If its another few hours or a day, I say convert them.

Another week and/or lots of work, then just reset them.



What all upgrades do you have enabled now?

please dont put fire grenade Hell, just restrict HE's all together. Everyone just throws them as soon as the round starts. Makes it 10x easier if you use the scroll wheel to cycle weapons. Plus I hate when i have to throw like 6 HE's because they keep coming back, lol.

What im thinking is just run the reset now, if you do get the old levels converted you can always implement them later, I am starting to get twitchy do to a lack of Pownage, and the other servers lacking.

Don't kill off HE, nothing beats killing someone with a grenade when they have 500 health,vamp and regen.
Fire grenades bog down the server from what I remember(Though it'd be fun to fire yourself and surf on fire) wish they had drug grenades lol.

list of upgrades. I like them all except for napalm grenade, gravity, and disable. As long as people dont spam smoke/flashes then they can work pretty cool.

with the armor regeneration, im wondering if you can take a m3 headshot with 100 armor and 500hp?


Health+ - Additional Health on respawn
Regeneration - Regenerate health
Regenerate Ammo - Regenerate ammo for the active gun
Napalm Nade - Turn your grenades into napalms which ignite your victims
Vampire - You sap life out of the damage you do and heal yourself
Stealth - Hide in the shadows as you become more difficult to see
Long Jump - Your jumps propel you further forwards
Ice Stab - Slashing your enemies with the knife causes them to freeze
Frost Pistol - Pistols will slow your enemy down
Stun Grenades - Flashbangs will half your enemies speed and shake their screen
Smog Grenades - Smoke grenades release a deadly poisionous smog to damage victims trapped inside
Speed+ - Increase your speed
Gravity- - Lower the earths gravatational effect on you
Disable - Damaging your enemies has a chance to force them to drop their weapons
Recover Weapons - You'll respawn with weapons you lost in the previous round free of charge
Regenerate Armor - Regenerates armor
Adrenaline - Allows you to turn tail and up the speed when in dire need. Gain a small speed boost for a limited time when damaged.
Medic - Heal close by team-mates. When their health is full, heal their armor.

Gravity,Stun Grenades,Disable and Napalm Nade are lame, gravity will make skillsurfs and jails pointless as they will be able to just jump out of the jail, flashbangs are bad enough on there own, slowdown and screenshake is pretty lame since we have frost already,screen shake will make surfing impossible and you will get people(like me) just throwing them in River when the lazer is activated sending anyone to an instant death, disable is neat.... but without the ability to take other peoples weapons it will be pretty lame.

Speed+ - Increase your speed and Adrenaline are neat and will give the ubers something extra to spend points on
