Best way to access PC remotely?

Yo niggas.

I was going to do some research and just choose something, but I thought I'd ask you guys instead. I want to be able to access one of my PC's remotely, using a very secure/reliable method. I know I could use something simple like realVNC, but that shit is laggy and doesn't have any great features. I want to do this so I could possibly access one of my PC's remotely if I do a live show in Canada, that way I'll be able to set up some simple broadcasting method and access some of the files on there.

What have you guys used before?

The library near my crib uses a program whose is slipping my mind right now, and it seems to work pretty well. I think it's called anyplace, google dat shit and try it.

All those links (LogMeIn, TeamViewer, etc.) all use VNC at their core, so they won't be much faster.

Remote Desktop in Windows uses RDP, which has been much more responsive in my usage.

Yeah I did think about RD initially, but that PC is not running a professional ver of XP, so it doesn;t come with RD, and I'm too lazy to reformat and all that..

I used logmein longggggggggggg ago, I'm not sure what i'll end up doing, I'm just worried that it won't end up working when I get there. haha
