I'm an IT technician and when I need to do a remote call I use LogMeIn. I saw you were looking into it, and I really recommend it. It's got a TON of commands and there's a free version of it that lets you do everything. Just make sure you install the LogMeIn program on the computer you need to log in to.
If you need help, let me know and I'll be glad to assist.![]()

Yeah that is the one we used when I was doing Verizon tech support a bit laggy but not bad, only problem is that you need to have someone at the other computer to start it and win vista/7 blacks out when making changes(a little yes/no box)
What a lot of the PTS agents/offsite techs used was logmein since it's free and pretty simple to use(Out of my support range and they disbanded PTS before i got to fool around with it T_T) , probably you best option without spending cash.
Good luck.
I would recommend Team viewer.
Logmein is soo much better because you can also remotly start up your computer
