I have a spare Sony vaio SHARP LQ089B1LS11 screen. I want to do something with it cause it's doing nothing sitting here. Would it be possible to connect it to my computer for an extra screen.
heres a pic of the exact screen (note: only has two wires coming out of it a pink and a white).
Well, your pic is coming from a site that malwarebytes is blocking for start. So I cant see it.
But considering that it's a 9 inch LCD you should have an input on it for either VGA or DVI plug and all you do is plug that into the screen into your pc assuming you have a slot for those that's being unused then you right click on your desktop and go to properties and go to settings - advanced and set it up for a dual screen application or you can set it up as 2 components that you turn one to primary or secondary display. If the screen doesn't have any of these inputs all I can say is good luck because I can't remember technology for PC inputs before VGA's. Might be different for this screen as well, but I'm not familiar with it and don't care because you didn't care to go to google in the first place to look up specs.
DVI is the white one on the left and the VGA input is the blue one on the right.
Oh, and you're a fucking moron for not knowing any of this in the first place. Even my girlfriend who is technologically RETARDED knows this stuff. And I mean retarded, she lost privaleges to my PC by clicking on something a " friend " sent her giving me a trojan. I made her go buy her own PC at that point and I lock my PC even to go to the bathroom.

Anyway, I've never tried such a thing so i dont know much but as i understand it's a pain in the ass that will cost you. Laptop monitors and regular tft/lcd monitors work differently. Which means that you'll have to buy extra equipment to output the right signal from your pc to the laptop monitor since it doesn't have a vga/dvi port.
