Default Got me my Photoshop CS5

So this morning I finished installing Photoshop CS5 and it's amazing. The basic feel of it is pretty much the same as Photoshop CS4, but the new tools are outstanding.

I didn't have much time to actually play around with it. First thing I did though, was try out the Content Aware function and see if all this hype is true.

    Before:

    After:

As you can see, It pretty much works perfectly. I did a quick selection, missing the shoes etc. so it's a bad example, but whatever.

That's pretty good actually. How fast does it feel compared to CS4?

Actually, I was impressed with the speed when compared to CS4. Maybe not the starting, but the actual navigation is much quicker. New documents open way quicker, absolutely no freezing yet, pictures paste in and cut immediately. Only problem is, is that it takes pretty long to open.

Sweet. I might have to get this since they actually decided to rewrite it in Cocoa on OS X.

Dont even need torrent for this one, just search it on youtube and they have a version that you just download and open. I would assume it is the portable version.

I know since ive been using it something called bridge has an error if you try to open it. Since i've just recently got into photoshop comming from years of gimp I dont know if bridge is supposed to be its own entity seperate from photoshop but it doesnt work on the version I have. Brushes seem to be fine though.

I wouldn't recommend portables. They usually have errors in the long run and don't run half as smooth as the whole app.

GIMP? God bless your soul. I'd rather roll in broken glass than have to deal with GIMP again.

I loved using GIMP. Had no problems with it. Most people who saw my edits i've done considered it to be photoshop. I was just recently drawn to Photoshop becuase of the new features it just got that I really liked. I still use GIMP here and there.

I suppose its not terrible. But I never really got comfortable using it.

It's funny because even the developers of Ubuntu used Photoshop, not GIMP.

Haha, nice. Did not know that.

Yeah, going from GIMP to photshop was a bit aggrivating becuase its quite a bit differently set up but i'm getting really used to it now. It's just like going from a video editing program you've used for years to a new one that has a whole new set of rules you have to work with can be quite intimidating.

    Meanwhile, my CS5 download finishes

So impressed with the Content-Aware. You are able to do something in 5 minutes, that would have taken you at least half an hour in CS4. The puppet warp is pretty cool, even though it doesn't work as smoothly as advertised.
