Gen 1 was like a beta to pokemon metagame tbh.. Gen 2 made the biggest impact on pokemon by adding EV/IV,breeding, egg moves (for a bigger move pool), WAY better pokemon for competitive and giving the pokemon from gen 1 the evolutions they needed,and Dark/Steel types for final touches on balancing. Gen 3 and 4 added some must have Pokes for the metagame so I REALLY dont see where you get this idea that they sucked. As for designs becoming lame all I gotta say is: Magnemite family,rattata,Zubat family,Krabby family, Voltorb family,Seel family,Grimer Family, Geodude family, Diglett family, Dratini family.

Besides.. Who plays pokemon for the designs?

(Aside from Hitmonlee because he'll kick all your asses and he's hella buff)

LOL dude the designs suck ass for more than half of all the pokemon. I've been talking from the competitive PoV this whole time while you're coming from the casual side of things. Regardless though Torterra imo is one of the lamest pkmn even if it did have good stats (which it doesnt) I dont think I could drive myself to use it.

battle me or toasterz. ull understand why pokemon after gen 3 helps the meta game. maybe the storyline is better by a little but who cares. the reason ppl play pokemon is because of competitive battling. we were little kids and didnt know shit back then, now we are older and we know what the fuck we are doing in real battling

the OU tier list consist of very poewrful 4th gen pokemon. azelf is a top sweeper and lead in the metagame. heatran, one of the best choice scarfed poke in the game because of his high SpA and ability "Flash Fire." Dusknoir, a fucking tank, can basically break down any sweeper if used correctly. Electivire is another decent sweeper used but not as much as the highly used Lucario who has a crazy moveset and could sweep teams. Bronzong is the base of a Trick Room team and is a pretty good wall, also doing a pretty good amount of damage to fast pokemon with gyro ball. ROTOM probably the best counter to every single gen 1 pokemon because of its multiple movesets and different forms.

Now let me ask you a question. How many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pokemon are on the OU tier list? um...none. How many pokemon from the 4th gen are on the OU tier list...2 out of the 3. The turtle with a fucking tree on its back you speak of is actually a wonderful tank in the UU tier and its move "Woodhammer" does a shit ton of damage.
