3/4 of a ring? or full ring? if its full, then make sure ur power's plugged in. if its 3/4 ring, then u have to send it in.. that shit sucks, but its free.

Before you fuck yourself in the ass with their rediculous 4 week box send in, listen to me.

1. Youtube search "Self 3 Ring Xbox Repair" or somewhere along those lines. Take off the face plate on the top of your xbox and manually repair the broken off chip. Do this by melting it back to what appears to be the large central module. It's easier to just look up the video.

2. Wrap a wool shirt/vest/jacket or a towel around the complete 360 and over heat this by turning it on. Remember that all parts must be covered. Without any risk of damaging the 360 drive, this will melt the chip back onto the module. After 15 minutes of overheating this bad boy, take off the towel and let it cool for 5 minutes. Time may vary but it all depends.

3. Call 360 hotline, talk to the Indian dude you can't understand. 4 weeks later get the box. Ship it in. 3 weeks later get it back. Even when you do it back you WILL have something wrong with the new one they give you. For instance mine had its Ethernet port broken which fucked me again. My friend had a memory slot broken and so forth. You will receive a complementary 3 months of xbox live though.

Lol the towel thing is easy. They only way YOU can destroy it is if you manually repair it by removing the face plate and yada yada. The towel thing is a sure win.
