im pretty sure its illegal if you have to pay the school for something that they took from you, which is technically stealing and a bribe. if a teacher tells me to give over the phone i just say no and argue with them until they finally give up. it works.

Probably cuz your teachers are white in Texas hell no you aint getting your phone back unless you come to the school district headquarters between the hours of 6:30 - 6:31 am on monday and pay 15$

This didn't happen at my secondary school, well they did consfiscate it, however, we didn't need to pay nothing. All we did was collect at the end of the day. Legally, they do not own your property. The principal is an idiot. You were not using it in a LESSON. You were using it at lunch. Lunch you do not study nor do work. It is a time where you relax or do whatever you please(within reason). The principal did not have a real reason for taking it, it was not disturbing your learning.

My school is chill. We get to listen to iPods at lunch, and we can bring our laptops to school and use them in class sometimes, lunch, all the time. You can eat in the cafeteria, in the hall, or outside during lunch. No bells, but we have to be there at a specific time. Freely go to the library and chill. In the homeroom block, you can play games on your laptop or do whatever the fuck you want, clubs, etc.

Hell, my friend actually went to Five Guys during lunch and no one did a damn thing.

Makes up for this by being the HARDEST FUCKING HIGH SCHOOL IN THE WORLD.
