Alright so my laptop is loaded with stuff, i am wondering if i call Acer and ask to get a Windows with my drivers installed on the windows disk, is that possible because i would hate to install all those drivers.
Thank you for the help =]
Drivers have to be installed seperately from the OS on their own disk. If you send it in, they'll install everything you need for you, but they don't take very long to install nor do they take up much room.
You could also download and burn a windows version which includes all laptop drivers and stuff..
There are a few out there..
Another alternative, easy, recommended and free is to download a ubuntu linux 9.10 Live version. It has everything you need. You insert the disc and you're ready to go without the need to format/install it first.
I'm on an acer laptop with it right now.
Another option is to download the drivers from acer's site and burn them on a seperate disc or if you're 1337 skeet enough, to embed them in an existin windows image file and burn it.
k peace.

Just download all the drivers and keep them on a separate disk. You can slipstream them into your own Windows install CD, like George said, but its some real techy shit to do.

Get Windows 7. No need to install any of the drivers that your computer comes with, it does it for you. Although you will need to install drivers for things like printers, mice, external sound things etc.
It's also a lot better than Vista in my opinion and well worth the upgrade.
Good luck.

Windows 7 includes mostly generic drivers. While for most things on your system, they will work fine, they might not have full support for all the features of your computer. For example, the generic graphics drivers in Windows usually have no 3D support at all.

I think the best method would be to delete system 32 it allows windows to install without losing all of your files and drivers
When you upgrade to Windows 7, Windows converts your entire hard drive, OS, EVERYTHING into binary code and then simply switches all of the 1's to 0's and vice versa. This is why when you upgrade to 7 you get 30 days before you have to register your version of windows. If you don't like Windows 7, they simply switch all of the 1's and 0's back to their original form and bam you have your old OS and files back.
With the newer releases of Windows 7 you can completely reformat your drives as opposed to the beta versions which only allowed you to apply Windows 7 as a visual layer on top of Vista. And yes, Windows 7 will give you enough drivers to get you started and to get most built in features functional.
Hope this helps.
