Bad connection, don't know if you are a new admin or one of those from last year or anything but don't ban anyone on assumption. Dude this is RPG for a reason, the decision is on the spot, you banned someone cause you THOUGHT he was toggling aimbot. Instead there should be atleast one admin on, me, ypock, blind, or cho. When not sure atleast bother to get someone to help if you care too much for server that you can ban someone and then review him and "Oh my bad, he wasn't hacking i just assumed it".

Don't get me wrong I know what you're saying and yes maybe he should've had someone to help him with the choice of reviewing the demo before a ban was issued.

I've been an admin with badconnection before and for a long time at that.

To me, yes it was an inconvenience for the player and tarnished his name a bit. But he did step up and apologize and remove the ban the next day. Not to say no harm no foul, but it's pretty close to it if you had to ask me.

I respect him for that, that he stood up and agree that he was wrong. But m just telling him and not critising him for anything. just pointing out something. Don'et get me wrong Blind and BadConnection. And i meant no offence.

I apologize if i sounded sarcastic or like i was critising.

Thats a rather big assumption you just made. I recorded a demo, established the required proof, then laid down a ban. I happend to be wrong, but I didn't assume anything. In fact the only assumption here is your's...

Thats kinda how it works no? Admins are human beings....we think things. If you think someone is hacking, you do what you can to establish proof, then you ban them. I am sorry my brain doesn't consist of circuit boards and capacitors....I have to think before I can do just about anything. Wherever you got your brain upgrade that doesn't require thinking, send me a link.

Hmm....since you guys were not on at the time, does that mean I can pass the blame along? Ask BK what the first thing I did when I woke up later that day was.....ask him to review the demo. Bang.....looks like you made another assumption!

Once again...assumptions assumptions. BlindKiller reviewed the demo when I asked him too the next day. Thats the main reason the dude was unbanned. So, what are you saying exactly? That I didn't seek the help of other admins? Hmm....


Before you go preaching to someone you don't know, and have never met, I think you should do your homework on the situation. To recap: I suspected a player of hacking, established proof by recording a demo, then banned him. Upon a review of the demo later by myself and BK, it turns out I made a bad call. I manned up to my mistake, apologized, and unbanned the player. What more can you ask for? I wish all players used easily spotted hacks, and even announced them when they joined a server. Unfortunately, they don't...so there is always going to be a human ellement when such situations arise. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we get it wrong. Welcome to society!
