As many of you may know, I have already cut back my show on Stickam to once every other week, as I have been extremely busy. Me and several of my listeners are starting their next semester in college, and for many others their next year in high school. I plan on focusing on my school work once my next semester starts, and will definitely not have time for live shows, nor will I really have the resources at hand to run them.

I know this will probably anger many of you.. all I can say is that I’m really sorry, and hope that you understand where I’m coming from. I’ve had an amazing time hanging out with all of you, and without all of the dedicated fans and listeners, we’d be nothing.

The website, forums, and VIP Ventrilo will remain online. I plan on still allowing the community to grow, and hopefully OwnagePranks will be back some time. I will continue to look for recordings from the past and upload as many calls as possible to the VIP archives.  There will be occasional events that will occur in the Ventrilo voice server, as they are much easier and less stressful for me. I feel that when I do an official show on Stickam, it must last at least 3 hours, but with Ventrilo.. the calls can occur randomly throughout the day and is a lot less pressure on me. I also plan on having tryouts do calls in the Ventrilo server. I know for a fact that there is a lot of talent out there, they just haven’t been discovered.  I will still remain as active as possible on the Ventrilo server, and hope to get to know all of the VIP members on a more personal basis.

Once again, I am very sorry, but you have to understand that I am one person, and have limitations. This obviously can’t go on forever. What has kept me going has been the constant messages from fans inquiring about when the next live show would be, I’d even go live when I was very tired or not in the mood whatsoever. It pains me to lose this privilege as a Stickam Entertainer, and the money that I have thrown into this  simply seems insane to me at this point, but the more I think about it.. I think it was worth it simply for the experiences I’ve had.

Good luck to everyone enrolled in school next fall, and I encourage you to focus on school as much as possible, and I hope that it’s important to everyone else as it is to me. (Hopefully that doesn’t sound too cheesy coming from Ownage, but I’m being serious)

I’m glad I finally was able to release VIP, as I have been hounded recently with comments and concerns in regard to the status of this operation. Thankfully I have been hearing good things about it so far and I hope to continue hearing the same positive remarks that I have heard all around. After putting it off a few times, and working on it for several months, OwnagePranks V.I.P is now available. Just to recap here are the current features:

I will be adding several new features later down the road. A few days after each show the funny clips will be edited and thrown into the VIP only archive. Over the past couple months I have gotten several messages from people wondering why they were not able to enter the stickam chat when I was live, and why they sometimes got errors when attempting to join the room. The reason for this is that Stickam’s maximum user limit per room is 500, once 500 is reached, nobody else may join the chat, all they can do is ‘lurk’, meaning listen without joining the room. Several people have also proposed the idea to start up an IRC chat server. An IRC chat server can essentially have no limit on how many users can simultaneously be connected to the server. You can either install the program to connect to the chat, or connect via the web-based java client.

I decided to look into the idea, and finally got the chat network set up! The server has been generously given to us by ispeeds.net . If you’re totally new to IRC, and would like to see some tutorials about using it, click HERE.

UPDATE: Be sure to login to stickam, and click the SUBSCRIBE button on my profile, that way you can receive an AIM message, email, or text message, any time me, or anyone else you subscribe to goes live on Stickam. Although, you must select which email/number/screen name that you’d like Stickam to send to. You don’t have to use all 3, I just use 1 alert type, and that’s AIM.  More detaailed instructions can be found HERE.

Pranking every Saturday night has become kind of tedious and tiresome for me. I am going to start being EXTREMELY busy for a while, and I’d prefer to keep my account active, rather than just having OwnagePranks be unactive for a while. If you haven’t noticed, there are also points when I get extremely bored of doing prank calls all by myself.  The main thing that drove me to go live every week was the constant emails, comments, and messages inquiring about when the next live show was. I will be going on vacation, and will also be busy with work and other projects, so I obviously will not have as much time to go live and do formal shows. I may do a random show sometime, but I probably won’t have the equipment or resources to do that most of the time. One thing I will do is upload a bunch of new clips to my stickam profile. I have mentioned this before, but decide to reiterate this in a blog post:

I am looking for a few good prankers/entertainers that would be interested in doing live shows on my stickam account. I was thinking than rather than having this revolve around me, to make make OwnagePranks more of a brand name, as in “pranks that own.” I have spent a lot of time building up the name, and it is still rapidly increasing. I have gotten a few requests via E-Mail and Stickam messages in the past, but will now actually consider them. If interested please contact me by sending an e-mail to apply@ownagepranks.com  Let me know what experience you have (if any), and link me to any media you have online. If you don’t have any recordings of you anywhere, you can do some calls via SKYPE on your computer, and there is a plugin I found online that you can record the calls with. The plug-in is located here. You can then host these mp3’s and include the link in your email. Everyone is now allowed to submit a prank request to our request system at any time. I have realized that a lot of tme is wasted filtering through silly and stupid requests, so it would be best to receive all the requests throughout the week, and have time to filter through before the live show on Saturdays. 

For those who are wondering what pranks we wont even bother looking at, here is a short tutorial on how to submit a good prank:

These are REAL examples with different information and remember, the more detail the better the prank will be. One sentence of text will usually not suffice.

A Bad Request

The above prank request is a perfect example of what we DON’T want. Notice that there is no name, no city, no age, nothing about the guy and essentially nothing that could make this prank funny. Requests like these not only waste the time of the people that have to read through them, but the listeners as well. A request like this produces a terrible call, so the obvious solution is to follow the example as displayed below…

This is an example of a GREAT request and as many of our listeners will remember this request did in fact happen and was funny. Notice the large amount of detail making it possible to perform this prank. The submitter has thought it thorugh, and has even helped Ownage out by thinking of a situation that was probably going to arise during the call. More requests like this one will produce a much more efficient show.

UPDATE 2: VIP was completely ready on 7/5, but the payment gateway was being buggy. If I released it, I would manually have to upgrade each person to VIP status, which would be a pain in the ass, and the reason I payed for the software to do this was so that the whole thing could be automated. No worries, I will have it fixed, and once again, I am very sorry about the delay.

UPDATE: It is now Saturday 6/28, and 95% of the V.I.P system has been coded and designed. There are still a few kinks I need to work out, and some small things to implement, so I decided to delay the release til next week. I’d rather release it when it’s fully functional and up to my standards, rather than release something semi-broken, and then fix it as I go. I don’t think anyone will be devastated over this, but I apologize for those who have been awaiting the release of VIP, but I hope you understand where I’m coming from.

I have been working on implementing the OwnagePranks V.I.P service for a several weeks now, and it is almost complete. You will be able to register a totally new account, or upgrade your current forum account to V.I.P (to maintain your post count and other statistics) When signing up for VIP, you must use your forum account name, the email you signed up on the forum with, and your forum password to be able to upgrade a current account. Make sure you use a legitimate email when signing up on the forums, but you can go back and change the email on file by editing your forum profile. This is done to prevent anybody from upgrading an account on your behalf, and gaining access to the members area with your alias. This will also help you maintain one, uniform username password for everything on OwnagePranks.com

Ownage here, I am writing to announce the return of Mr. Trump. Some of you may remember him from the old days… well not so long ago 2006/2007. But many of you probably have no idea who he is and are thinking why does he go around on the Internet known as Mr. Trump. The answer is he has no clue, but his old nickname was Starbucks a long time ago, so yah he can’t really think of too many good nicks.
Anyway he is returning to co-host with me on hopefully a more regular basis but he still is a busy man with lots of things to do everyday.

The Show Information Will Go As Follows:

Saturday June 14

(9 PM EST/6PM PST) - The show will commence, Ownage and I will be discussing some of the old days and show you some of his first pranks from way back in the day, don’t laugh at Ownages voice before his ballsack dropped.

 (9:30 PM EST/6:30 PM PST) - A mass advertisement effort will happen, we will be counting on everyone to tell absolutely everyone about the show. We will do our usual promotion routines but we hope we can have a lot of success with this one.

(10 PM EST/7PM PST) - The show will officially commence in a live format and will hopefully go on for as much as it can before we die of laughter etc. The show will definitely happpen unless we have severe techinacal issues with the stickam feed, let’s hope for the best. We will be featured on the homepage for at least 2 hours starting at this point.

Also, this will be the scheduled night of the release of our first YOUTUBE video. Be prepared to comment the video, and digg it on digg.com If you don’t have a digg account, register NOW at www.digg.com, further instructions will be given while we are live.

After helping Stickam beta test their Stickam Pro service, I now have my old profile back. I missed the old functionality of a regular stickam profile, so this means you guys can comment my profile, videos, audio clips, etc once again! I have finally decided to install a vBullitin forum on OwnagePranks.com. I am still tweaking the theme a little but, as well as installing some plugins that I think the community may find useful. I am hoping that this will cause the site to be used more often, as well as help the community grow.

To visit the forum click the forum tab at the top. I will officially announce it’s release next time I do a live show, but be sure to REGISTER NOW! If you wait until I’m live the site may be too overloaded to allow everyone to register at once. I have decided to finally look for help editing recordings. I have about 10-15 full unedited Stickam shows that need to be edited. The recordings range from 2 hours to sometimes 5 hours. If you have professional audio editing software, and have some experience working with it, please contact me and let me know if you’d be interested in helping me out.
